Over 75 Years
Early history
Read an article from the Ann Arbor News printed in 1951 that details the founding and first 20 years of the Ann Arbor Women's Golf Association.
AAWGA today
Every AAWGA play date is a low pressure, mini-tournament as scores are rated next to others in the handicap class. The low gross score and low net score in each class wins a new golf ball for the player. See Season Play Awards for play date winners.
The more times a player wins one of these small prizes, she is one score closer to winning one of the season low gross or low net trophies. See Tournament History for recent winners.
In the 2009 season, AAWGA added Match Play to the regularly scheduled play. Participating members arrange their own matches, playing either during regularly scheduled times or on additional days of their choosing. See Match Play Winners for recent season results.
While no longer the home of the Ann Arbor Women's City Championship, AAWGA holds a two-round handicapped tournament annually. See Cile Cissel Net Championship for recent winners.
